Your trek starts with a spectacular flight from Kathmandu to Lukla (45 min flight) in the Khumbu region, then on through the heart of Sherpa country towards Everest base camp. You will see isolated ancient monasteries with their huge prayer wheels, majestic mountain views (many of the world's 8000m peaks are found here: Cho Oyu, Lhotse, and Makalu.), picturesque mountain villages with their multi-colored prayer flags and carved Mani stones and an abundance of wildlife on your way to see the highest mountain in the world. Everest stands at an astonishing 8,848m!

Mt. Everst
First climbed in 1953, Everest still holds endless fascination. The trek follows in the footsteps of Hillary & Tenzing and ends with the ascent of Kala Pattar (5,545m) a rocky outcrop with a superb view to the west of Everest. This vantage point gives fantastic views of the Ice Fall and South Col as well as the towering south-west face of Everest first climbed in 1975 by Chris Bonington and his team. You may visit the base camp itself, though the views are far superior from Kala Patar.
There is plenty of time to enjoy the warmth and richness of the Nepali people, stop at the pretty guesthouses along the way and enjoy a glass of sweet tea, ginger tea, garlic soup or if you're not too tired, Chang beer! Enjoy the hospitality of the local people and the vibrancy of their culture.
Accommodation and food is provided along the way in the local lodges and guesthouses, don't forget your sleeping bag!
There is also plenty of time at the start and end of the trek to enjoy the hustle and bustle of Nepal’s medieval capital, Kathmandu.
